Commissioner's Message

Peter Malnati has been in the news as a member of the PGA Tour Policy Board, but not as a player... until last week. Malnati, who went off as long as 400-1 pre-tournament, won the Valspar Championship by two shots over Cam Young for his second PGA Tour win, his first since 2015. His earnings of $1,512,000 for the win is more than he won all of last season. Sporting a bucket hat and playing yellow golf balls, Malnati jumped to #16 in the FedEx Cup standings and punched his ticket for a few more years on the Tour.

Needless to say, nobody started Malnati in the Mayhem League, and nobody used a sub or mulligan on him, either. Without a winner on board, the results were tight, but Chris Wininger of 19Watson82 squeaked by the field to win the Skin and the $50 rollover prize! Chris started Cam Young and Xander Schauffele (T5) before adding Brendon Todd (T33) as a sub. That was enough to hold off Harry Radley of World Am Champ by just more than $20,000. After the massive scores at THE PLAYERS, nobody cracked the $3M mark this past weekend. Great work, Chris!

There was not much movement on the overall leaderboard, as Nevin Hollett of Dustin The Wind held his spot atop the standings. He leads Kory Roy of Patrick Cantlay's Fat Face by just more than $1M, and there are still 37 players within $10M of Nevin. Justin Hanson of Green Monster 2022 leads Segment 2 by less than $400,000 over Matthew Cohen of Precept.

Segment 2 continues with the Houston Open. We have three weeks left in Segment 2, which concludes with the Masters, so choose your players wisely! Get those lineups in! Best of luck!
